Merge fields
Every template ships with a fixed set of merge fields for its document type. You supply the data; the template handles the layout and formatting.
Merge fields
A field is a dotted path into the data you send:{{contact.full_name}},{{opportunity.value}}. Each template reads the fields its document type needs — contact details, line items, the deal — and theworkflow action supplies the records that populate them.
Where the data comes from
Fields read live values from your CRM at generation time: contact and business details, opportunity and invoice data, and any custom field you have defined. Nothing is duplicated into the app ahead of time — a document generated today reflects today's record.
Formatting
Dates, currency amounts, and running totals such as line-item subtotals and tax are formatted automatically by the template — there is no helper syntax to learn or markup to write.
Missing values
A field with no value renders as blank rather than raising an error, which keeps one absent phone number from failing an entire run.
QR codes and barcodes
Both are generated from a merge field, so the code encodes per-document data — a payment link, a reference number, a verification URL — rather than a fixed image.
